I believe the laser/railgun would apply to those 10,000 tons+ destroyers/cruisers for anti-missile purpose.

IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT THE POWER OF A LASER GETS ATTENUATED BY NORMAL MOISTURE AND DUST AT GROUND LEVEL WHERE LASERS CAN ONLY BE USED FOR TARGET DESIGNATION OR DISTANCE RANGING.THEY CANNOT TRANSFER MILITARILY USEFUL POWER.THIS PROBLEM IS MADE A HUNDRED TIMES WORSE OVER THE OCEAN WHERE MOISTURE AND CONDENSATION ARE MUCH MORE.THIS SO CALLED CHINESE LASER SHIP CAN ONLY BE A PIPE DREAM
